Delivering an all-out attack on the senses.

The brief

Inverawe is a family-owned company producing the finest smoked salmon, trout, and gourmet hampers. They hold a royal warrant and their products can be found in many boutique stores and supermarkets across the UK.

Looking to expand internationally, Inverawe contacted The Frank Agency to help them access the US market


What we did

Rather than adopt a ‘spray and pray’ approach to finding a US distributor, we identified one person who could open all the doors – a Procurement VP for a major seafood wholesaler. Our thinking: if we could impress her, she would become our own brand ambassador to her retail network.

We then enlisted Michelin-star chef Mike Robinson and created an immersive, personalised, film. Supported by literature, tasting notes, and some tasty chilled samples, we installed the video on a tablet in a bespoke oak chest. Which was then shipped to the US precisely when we knew our audience of one would be at home, hand-delivering a gourmet experience right to her door.

The upside

Despite being getting caught in hurricane Matthew, this most personalised mailing blew our VP away. She took the bait and started distributing Inverawe products into major retailers across the US. We call that hook, line, and sinker.
